Varennes: Lays Claim to Morovian Republic, Berg Convicted of Treason
Early this morning, His Majesty Louis I of Varennes established a Varennes presence in the Republic of Morovia.
Utilizing multiple posts in the Republic's forums, the Government of Varennes, in the person of the Duke of Colborne (serving as Interim Viceroy of the Dominion of Chambord), welcomed the Republic's citizens to the Dominion of Chambord, stated that the Kingdom of Morovia was the only Morovian government of which Varennes was aware, affirmed Chambord's friendship with the Kingdom of Morovia and published the Letters Patent reported by this paper earlier. The Duke also announced that a series of "decrees and pronouncements" on the future of the Dominion would be forthcoming and that plans were being laid for a new web site reflecting the new state of affairs.
Meanwhile, in the President's Office, His Majesty Louis I himself posted Letters De Cachet announcing the convinction of Yarl Berg on charges of treason as well as his subsequent imprisonment "until our further pleasure is signified."
