The United States of Judicia

Judicia - Within the past week, a new nation has appeared on the micronational scene.

The United States of Judicia was begun about a week ago and has recently garnered some activity on their discussion boards and some applicants for their citizenry.

The government envisioned by founder Jonathan Cid appears to be a government similar to the USA with greater centralization of power in the federal government, the states existing primarily as a vehicle for determining representatives to the national body as well as for the financial support of "religious tradition".

Judicia's stance on religion is made explicit in her constitution:

The official religion of the United States of Judicia shall be plain Christianity, or in other terms, those who are of protestant heritage that believe in Christ, and no denomination. The Christian religion may receive assistance from the government of the states, not the federal. For every amount of money donated to a Christian church, a half of that must be donated to one church, temple, mosk, etc, of every other religion in the state. This is Christian, as the religion, and not the category of religion.

The appearance is that while Judicia establishes a non-denominational Christianity as the state-supported (literally state-supported, as support comes from the state not the federal govenrment) religion, the reference to temples and mosques seem to imply that other religions may be tolerated and even partially state-subsidized.

In any event, Judicia enters the community of micronations and several discussions (mostly involving American politics) are happening in their discussion forums.
